Thomas Deczky is an engineer and a member of the firm’s Patent Group. His practice focuses on prosecuting and drafting patent applications in a broad range of technologies including electrical and mechanical inventions, and in preparing and filing industrial design applications. He has also performed numerous patentability searches and assisted in the drafting of patentability opinion.
Thomas also advises clients on their patent portfolio strategies and management. He graduated from McGill University with a B. Eng in Electrical Engineering and with a minor in business administration and from Carleton University with a B.A. (Honours) in Economics and Finance achieving the highest honours distinction.
Prior to joining Shapiro Cohen, Thomas worked in the telecommunications field as a hardware engineer for an international high technology company. Thomas is fully bilingual in English, French and conversational Hungarian.
