Dr. Mark Weir is a Patent Agent registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and United States Patent and Trademark Office.  Mark has over nine years experience including developing strategies for national and international patent portfolios in a range of different technologies.  Mark has considerable specialization in scientific and analytical instruments, mechanical systems including airport systems and conveying systems, chemical and cosmetic systems, information systems, and data security applications.

Mark's qualifications include a B.Sc. in general chemistry with emphasis on physical and analytical applications, including thesis work focusing on three-dimensional ion trap mass spectrometry; a Ph.D. in physical-inorganic chemistry with emphasis on physical and analytical applications, including thesis work involving catalytic systems, and a NSERC post-doctoral fellowship, with an emphasis on novel catalytic inorganic membrane systems
