Colin is a lawyer and a registered
Canadian patent agent. His practice focuses
primarily on the drafting and prosecution of patent
applications pertaining to
mechanical and electrical subject matter. Colin has
substantial expertise in the
areas of communications and networking, optical fiber
and data processing
technologies, semiconductors, Internet-related, and
other, software applications.
Having joined F&A in 2009, Colin
has practiced for several years in national and
multi-national IP firms drafting and prosecuting
patent applications filed in the
Canadian and the United States Patent Offices.
Colin completed a Bachelor of
Science (with Honours) in Physics at Dalhousie
University in 1993. In 1996, Colin obtained a Masters
of Science in Physics at
McGill University with his thesis entitled "Supersymmetric
Ward Identities: A
Diagrammatic Analysis of QCD". Thereafter, Colin
earned his Bachelor of Laws
from Dalhousie University in 1999. A member of IPIC,
Colin was called to the Bar of
Ontario in 2001, and qualified as a patent agent in
2004.
