Chantal Bertoša graduated from McGill University in 1993 with her law degree. She was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1995 and to the Bar of Quebec in 1996. She is a registered Trade-mark Agent and a member of the Intellectual Property Association and the International Trademark Association.
Chantal joined the Firm in 1995 and became a partner in January 2000. Since then she has been actively involved in the management of the Firm. Chantal represents varied start-up and established companies in the insurance and financial, software development, hospitality, food and beverage, and retailing sectors.
In addition to protecting and enforcing trade-mark, copyright and domain name rights, Chantal's approach to intellectual property matters involves making assessments of a client's portfolio and business strategy. In close collaboration with the client and in line with their budget, she identifies the key elements to protect and the best manner to preserve and enhance IP rights. She recommends what should be protected, in which countries and in which manner.
While enjoying the challenge of a court battle, Chantal is a strong believer that out-of-court settlement is often worth more than engaging in costly litigation and strives to make the right arrangement for each client. Engaged in all facets of IP related litigation, Chantal's main focus is Trade-mark Law and Internet Law.
Chantal is fluently bilingual, offering her worldwide clients representation in French or English.
