
Andrea Pasztor articled at Shapiro Cohen and joined the firm as an associate lawyer upon being called in the Ontario Bar in 2007.
Andrea holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton's McMaster University with a double major in Philosophy and Political Science. While attending McMaster, Andrea was a member of the Women's Varsity Fencing Team convincingly wielding a Sabre.
Thereafter, Andrea pursued her legal studies at the University of Ottawa. While completing the Common Law Program, Andrea concentrated in public international law with research interests in humanitarian law and use of force issues. Her paper on the legal implications of information warfare was presented at the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies conference in 2005. Andrea continues to research and study in the area in her spare time, and volunteers with the Red Cross and the United Nations Online Volunteer Service.
Andrea has also had the benefit of public sector employment before joining the firm. She has worked in the public safety realm researching copyright, trade-mark and counterfeit issues relating to border security. Also, Andrea has worked in the intellectual property realm, researching international trade-mark law and trade-mark treaty implementation in Canada.
Andrea is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and Canadian Lawyers Abroad.
